Meet the Dean of AGST

The Rev. Dr. Romerlito C. Macalinao was ordained in the Gospel Ministry under the EL International Church in 1991.  His ministry experiences included serving as pastor for about three decades in the Philippines and in the USA, radio Bible teaching in FEBC Philippines for about two decades, and seminary teaching in various Bible and Theological institutions for almost four decades in both formal and non-formal contexts and up to this day.

Dr. Romer was the former President and CEO of Wycliffe Bible Translators Philippines, Inc., and the Co-Founder and Dean of the Language and Culture Institute.  He was the Program Coordinator of the National Church Planting Program with the DAWN2000 of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches, Executive Director of the Philippine Association for Theological Education by Extension, Director of Biblical Education for All through Media of FEBC Philippines, Asian-American Advocate for the Pacific Northwest of the American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA), and Treasurer on the Board of Trustees of the Asia Graduate School of Theology (AGST).  He has published articles in Orality Journal and Christian magazines and authored five books: the latest, Orality and Neuroscience: Making Disciples Among Oral Societies.

Dr. Romer earned his Bachelor of Theology from Febias College of Bible, M.A. Christian Education from Alliance Biblical Seminary, and. Ed.D. in Adult and Continuing Education from the Asia Graduate School of Theology. He is married to the former Catherine Caidic, an alumna of Febias College of Bible.  They have three children - Ashiel, Keryx and Kris Mea – and a son-in-law, Dr. Tristan, and a grandson, Zane Haniel.

Dr. Romer is passionately committed to the Great Commission through theological education, Bible translation, church multiplication, kingdom partnership, the discipling of every nation, tribe people and language and the preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom in the whole world as a witness to the nations to hasten the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
